Last week I shared a chance to enter a giveaway to win a signed copy of my friend Maria Pasquale’s new book, Mangia: How to Eat Your Way Through Italy published by Smith Street Books. In the meantime, I have received my own copy of the book, so believe me when I say it's a hefty tome packed with useful information, tips, and inspiration that’s well worth referencing when you’re planning your next culinary adventure in Italy.
As I explained last week, Mangia is the culmination of a lifetime’s worth of cooking and eating in Italy. You may or may not know that Maria grew up in Melbourne, Australia, where her parents met after immigrating from Abruzzo, so Italian cuisine is in her DNA and her upbringing. She moved to Rome in 2011 and has been writing about food and travel in Italy ever since.
Her other titles include The Eternal City: Recipes and Stories from Rome and How to Be Italian, a best-selling ode to the Italian way of life. To celebrate the release of her fourth book, Maria offered to team up with the New Roman Times to send a signed copy to one lucky winner.
Without further ado, I’m pleased to announce that the winner of the giveaway is Christina McCutcheon from North Carolina. Congratulations, Christina!
Thank you so much to everyone who entered the contest! If you didn’t win, but still want a copy of Mangia, you can purchase the book on Amazon or ask about it at your local bookstore. It’s now available worldwide. And be sure to follow Maria on Instagram @heartrome for her news and updates.
