Italians do seem to have a weird relationship with chicken. One of those things that they never seem to want to acknowledge eating, even though they do. We've got Thanksgiving coming up here-- you can imagine that a turkey really freaks them out.

Yes, I was at a dinner with some Italian hoteliers last night and one of them said he only eats chicken when he's on a diet because it makes him sad! But for some reason, they seem to be okay with duck and goose, at least in some regions.

Very similar to my Roman mum’s version but for some reason I’ve rarely made it, even though I loved it as a child. Pollo alla cacciatora is my go to in the cooler months and now that sumner is coming I’m going to make this dish part of my summer repertoire. Thank you for reminding me about how delicious this dish is.

You're welcome! And winter is coming in Rome so maybe I'll have to try pollo alla cacciatora.

I adore this dish (and anything with peppers), and they do it very well at Da Renato in Rome.

Thanks for the tip! I'll have to try it there.

And I’ll try your recipe, even though I am exceedingly lazy when it comes to cooking. 🙂
