Getting ready to book my train tickets for family of five. Can I book all 5 at the same time and then book each trip? Want to do two weeks with 5/7 travel days, but confused about getting them all at same time. Seems like I can only get one pass at a time for each person. Can I use the same email for each one then book the trips all together? For Trenitalia. Wanting to go from Milan to Venice, then Venice to Florence, Florence to LaSpesia (staying in Vernazza), then final trip to Rome. Please advise...
You can book all 5 tickets together via Trenitalia (just select the correct number of passengers and you'll automatically be seated together) but I believe you have to book each leg of the trip separately. You can use the same email for all of them.
Wow, this article is so coincidentally timely. I'm going to Italy for the first time next month and will be making 3 train journeys while there. Thanks for reassuring me that booking in advance was the way to go!
I’m so glad you found this useful! And if you have any questions ahead of your trip, send ‘em my way. I’m always happy to receive questions and feedback from readers.
Great article as usual! We will take the train to Verona from Florence in June -to see “Aida” at the Verona Opera Festival. Prior to Verona we will get to see YOU! You inspire us to keep exploring your/our beloved Italy -by train, car, foot, boat, bicycle -all of it. 💕
hi , this article is so informative ! thank you so much !
I am going to Italy in September , I am wondering if the connecting bus can wait for a few minutes if my train is delayed, because the ticket is sold as one on Trenitalia ; the trip is from Rome to Buonconvento , one change at Grosseto , FrecciaBlanca 8616 from Rome terminal to Grosseto , then change to bus FI392 to Buonconvento ; in-between is 8 minutes , could you please give me some advices ? thank you !
Watch out for the Leonardo express train! I got a ticket there the other weekend. They are now making you do “online check in” for the ticket and I didn’t do it so I got a 50 euro ticket. I filed a complaint bc it seems like a total tourist trap.

But I can't book the Pass for all 5 at the same time. It only shows 1 in grey and I can't change the amount to 5
I can't attach an image here, so I sent you a DM with a screenshot. Check in your Substack chat!

That’s the new policy for all regional trains now. You have to check in online before the train leaves the station.
So annoying! Especially as I was running from my Napoli train which is Freccia to the Leonardo, with all my bags, I was so frazzled!
Ugh that is so frustrating!
