Sophie has so many wonderful recommendations! How generous of her to offer some that she usually keeps to herself. Making note of these. ☺️ She has some wonderful guides via Thatch that I highly recommend. They’ve been very helpful and her recos are so solid!
Loved this interview! I appreciate that Sophie suggesting her clients stay in hotels. What’s happening to the Centro is frustrating.
I ended up moving to Parioli despite saying (when I first moved to Rome) I would never leave the Centro. My street changed so much. Airbnb completely took over my former building and it was horrible.
Via del Pellegrino. Such a pretty street. When i moved in there was only one vacation rental in the building. By the time I moved out, it was the reverse. That older Italian couple had a house in Tuscany so they were gone almost weekend. If I wanted to live in a hotel, I would. Our hardware store became a “tourist info” spot.
She was very generous with her advice! Her point about those places with women in the windows making fresh pasta was something I hadn't thought about before.
One of my favorite people on social and so loved reading this conversation 🤍
I know, her Instagram reels are so good! They feel like authentic slices of life and it's so refreshing.

I keep hearing more and more stories of people getting pushed out of the centro. What street did you live on before?

Such a shame. I love that area between Campo de’ Fiori and Via Giulia. Sorry to hear what’s happening over there.
What an excellent interview! Thank you to both for sharing so many gems!
I really enjoyed this conversation and agree so much with what Sophia mentioned about Roman restaurants.
Sophie made such a great point about fresh pasta not being a thing here. And popping into a merceria is the best advice ✨
Yes, I went to check out Emporio Centrale after she suggested it. They have so many beautiful things! Have you been there?
yes — it’s pretty cool!
Loved
the conversation. ❤️ Esquilino
I totally agree! Esquilino is becoming so cool.
There is so much good advice here. Thank you!!

Thank you for sharing! I always learn so much from you!
