On a recent trip to Milan, I had the chance to revisit Villa Necchi Campiglio, which is definitely a must for architecture fans, so today I’m giving you a look inside.
Hi Susan! There’s a lot to do in Milan, so it depends on what you’re interested in. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is a must-see spot right next to the Duomo. Nearby are the Palazzo Reale and the Museo del Novecento. Or you could explore the chic Montenapoleone district and visit Villa Necchi Campiglio. I always have this sense that the best things in Milan are hidden away in those courtyards and palazzos behind those massive wooden exterior doors. Now I know.
Enjoy! And if you need any other tips, ask away. I love getting questions from readers and sometimes dedicate issues of the New Roman Times to answering them.
Thank you! Do you have any restaurant recommendations in Milan? We plan a day excursion to the lakes and wonder which one you recommend? Ruminating a visit to Hotel Passalacqua for lunch. Thoughts?
In Milan, I like Langosteria Bistro for seafood, 10_11 in the Portrait Hotel for the pasta in bianco (sounds simple but it’s anything but), and Mezè for Lebanese.
And I love Passalacqua. It’s definitely a splurge, but the ambiance is truly sumptuous, the service is excellent, and Viviana Varese’s cuisine is delicious. If you go, I recommend her version of pasta e patate with pistachios. You can read my full review here: https://www.chase.com/travel/guide/hotels/passalacqua-review
@Marco and Sabrina, sorry I meant to reply to your comment and accidentally deleted it instead! I'm assuming you were referring to "I Am Love"?
Indeed, Laura
Such a great movie. I need to watch it again.
Laura,
We have 3-4 hours to tour Milan! We are thinking of the Duomo, the Mercato Centrale, and one more place. Can you recommend something?

Oh definitely! Milan is full of hidden gems behind closed doors.
Can't wait to see it in October!

Amazing and thanks so much. I may ask you for more recommendations as we near October.
This villa is on my forever to-do list. Maybe 2025 will be the year!
It’s really worth a visit!
Love Villa Necchi, it’s one of my all time favorite places in Milan!
Me too! It’s so special.
