When you think of quaint Medieval hill towns, what comes to mind? San Gimignano? Volterra? Civita di Bagnoregio? What about Orvieto?
You sent us to Orvieto -one of my fondest Italian memories! I ❤️ Orvieto. We ❤️you!
Super Post, many thanks. Any accommodation tips?
I've never stayed in Orvieto, but I've heard good things about Locanda Palazzone and Palazzo Petrus.
they are such different cities, each has its own charms, and problems
Ive done an audio guide for Viterbo for Voicemap.... its very popular as is the one I did for Civitavecchia.

Cool, I'll check it out!
Very true!
I visited Orvieto many years ago, it was such a quaint and beautiful town - I have no plans to go back to Italy in the near future, but I’d return to Umbria in a heartbeat if the opportunity arises!
Orvieto might be my favorite city in Umbria, but there's a lot to see in the region!
a great day trip from Rome, or if you are driving north from Rome one of the stops to make after Viterbo
Definitely! Personally I think Orvieto is more charming than Viterbo.
